WHAT TO EXPECT

Experience a unique birdwatching adventure in the heart of the Mayan jungle, specially designed for guests staying within Tikal National Park. This half-day morning tour begins at 5:45 a.m., when the jungle awakens and bird activity reaches its peak.

Departing directly from your hotel in Tikal, you'll begin your tour at first light, in a relaxed and unhurried atmosphere. You'll be accompanied by a specialized ornithology guide who will lead you along strategic trails through diverse habitats—rainforest, natural clearings, and areas near Mayan structures—ideal for detailed observation and recording of species.

During the tour, which lasts until approximately 11:00 a.m. or 12:00 p.m., you'll have excellent opportunities to observe iconic species such as the ocellated turkey, keel-billed toucan, trogons, motmots, oropendolas, forest raptors, and a wide variety of resident and migratory birds, depending on the season. The timing allows you to appreciate their songs, feeding behaviors, and morning movements, with optimal lighting conditions for photography.

The tour ends with your return to your hotel within the park, leaving you the rest of the day free to relax or continue exploring Tikal.

05:45 AM– We'll meet at your hotel in Tikal to begin the birdwatching tour

06:20 AM– We visit Temple IV, Central Plaza, Seven Temples, Central Acropolis and Great Plaza, South Acropolis and Lost World

08:30 AM– Breakfast (Box breakfast) while we continue the observation

10:30 AM– Observation at the old airstrip in Tikal, water reservoirs and secondary jungle

12:00 PM– End of tour and we return to your hotel in Tikal

• Any cancellation of reservations for holidays, Easter, New Years, have no refund
• Request changes in itinerary during a service, is subject to extra charges.
